Apparently contacts hurt like hell if you get anything like dust on/in them. And don't sleep with them in!
I used to wear glasses three years ago... i didn't like them so i just stopped wearing them.
The next time i went to the optician, i told him that i hadn't worn them for ages and he said my eye sight had actually got better without them

I used to but I have contacts now. Yes, they hurt horribly if you get something under them, like you can't even open your eye it hurts so badly. If you get dust in your eye but it doesn't go under the contact it's just bothersome.
I've always slept with them in and it was ruining my eyes so I got some new contacts that you can leave in for a month without ever taking them out.
I'm pretty much blind without my corrective vision. =P

Opticians actually just deal in eye glasses, lenses, etc. Opotometrists are the ones certified to examine the eyes.
